TUCSON, Ariz. (March 18, 2025) – Junior
Sam Renner shot 3-under par, 68, in the final round to lead Washington State to an eighth place finish Tuesday at the 2025 Arizona Thunderbirds Intercollegiate, played at the par-72, 7,533-yard Tucson Country Club.

As a team, WSU shot 14-over, 302, to finish the 54-hole event at 889, +25. Host Arizona captured the event with a winning score of 3-over, 867, one shot ahead of Long Beach State and two shots better than Utah.

Renner, whose second round Monday was halted by darkness with one hole remaining, finished that round with a birdie before opening his final round with another birdie. A pair of bogeys and another birdie had Renner making the turn at even-par. On the back side he found his stroke, going birdie-birdie-par-eagle to move to 4-under on his round before finishing at 3-under, 69, WSU's best round of the tournament. Renner moved up 22 spots to finish tied for 9th.

Drayton Joseph and freshman
Garrett Harrison tied for 25th overall after completing the three rounds at 7-over, 223. Joseph managed just one birdie as he shot a 4-pver, 76, on his final round while Harrison, who opened the tournament with a 1-under, 71, managed just one birdie Tuesday as he finished with a 5-over, 77.

Dylan Burcham and redshirt-sophomore
Ben Borgida struggled in the desert Tuesday, as Burcham shot 80 on his final round to finish 17-over and tied for 62nd. Borgida, who shot 1-over on his second round Monday, did not match that effort as he ended his tournament with a 9-over, 81, finished 17-over and tied for 62nd.
