Cougars Show Fight Against Unbeaten Texas Tech

PULLMAN, Wash. (December 12, 2025) – Washington State women's basketball showed resilience and fought for positive stretches Friday night at Beasley Coliseum, but ultimately fell 82-51 to unbeaten Texas Tech.

After a difficult second quarter, the Cougars (1-10, 0-0 WCC) regrouped coming out of halftime and delivered their best stretch of the night in the third, matching Texas Tech's physicality and scoring 20 points in the frame.

WSU cut into the deficit behind improved ball movement and perimeter shooting, highlighted by a pair of triples from Malia Ruud and strong interior finishes from Eleonora Villa.

Ruud led Washington State with 16 points, knocking down four three-pointers, while Villa added 13 points and four assists to pace the offense. Keandra Koorits chipped in eight points and a team-high eight rebounds, and Marta Alsina contributed six points off the bench.
