SPOKANE, Wash. (Nov. 2, 2025) – Redshirt-junior
Yura Nakagawa reached the Blue Flight singles final to highlight WSU's final day of play at the Gonzaga Invitational Sunday at the Stevens Center.
In Sunday's final, Nakagawa dropped a close first set before Gonzaga's Elizabeth Tindera pulled away to complete a 6-4, 6-1 win.
In the Red Flight consolation semifinal, WSU sophomore
Chisato Kanemaki fell to Oregon's Olivia Symonds, 6-3, 6-3.
In WSU's only doubles match of the day, Oregon's Patsy Daughters and Bridget Mihulka posted 6-2 win over Kanemaki and
Martina Puvill.
WSU is next in action Thursday when seniors
Eva Alvarez Sande and
Maxine Murphy compete in the ITA Sectional Championships in Seattle.
