Okafor’s Career Night Leads Cougs to Wednesday Win

PULLMAN, Wash. (Hayden Wysup) – The Washington State men's basketball (2-3) defeated Southern Utah, 98-74, Wednesday night in Beasley Coliseum. WSU redshirt-junior ND Okafor scored a career-high 27 points to lead the Cougars.

PULLMAN, Wash. (Hayden Wysup) – The Washington State men's basketball (2-3) defeated Southern Utah, 98-74, Wednesday night in Beasley Coliseum. WSU redshirt-junior ND Okafor scored a career-high 27 points to lead the Cougars.
 
Player PerformancesND Okafor led the game in scoring with a career-high 27 points on 12-of-14 shooting. Ace Glass had a career-high 20 points, off the bench, shooting 8-of-13. Eemeli Yalaho had 14 points and 11 rebounds for his first career double-double. Jerone Morton added 10 points with five assists.
 
Dominating the Paint – With the frontcourt tandem of Yalaho and Okafor leading the way, the Cougars outscored the Thunderbirds, 48-32, in the paint and outrebounded the T-birds, 36-26. 
 
Turning Point – With five minutes left in the first half, the Cougs went on a 14-5 run to close out the half. Returning from the locker room, the Cougs opened the half on a 25-9 run to extend their lead to 79-51. 
 
Up Next – The Cougars will travel to Hawaii to take on Chaminade at the Lahaina Civic Center in the opening round of the Southwest Maui Invitational, Monday, November 24 at 6 p.m. PT on ESPNU.
