EUGENE, Ore. (Oct 4, 2025) – Washington State Tennis had another strong outing as it collected three wins in four matches Saturday during Day Two at the 2025 Duck Invitational, played at the Student Tennis Center.
In doubles action, WSU's
Zali Morris and
Martina Puvill cruised to a 6-3 win over Portland's Alaia Rubion Perez and Maria Galatescu. WSU has captured all three doubles matches for the first two days.
The Cougars faced Oregon in singles play and won two of the three matches. Sophomore
Chisato Kanemaki collected her second singles win in as many matches following a 7-6 (1), 6-3 victory over Oregon's Patsy Daughters. Puvill followed with a 6-3, 2-6, 10-3 win over the Ducks Bridgit Mihulk. Oregon's Tilde Jagare came away with a 6-4, 6-0 win over Morris.
Play concludes Sunday morning at the Duck Invitational with the Cougars facing Utah in singles.
