PULLMAN, Wash. – (October 30, 2025) – Washington State women's volleyball put together one of its most complete performances of the season Thursday night, cruising past Pacific in straight sets (25-14, 25-19, 25-21) at Bohler Gym.

The Cougars (13-7, 7-3 WCC) tallied 40 kills on a .321 hitting percentage to go with six aces, and held Pacific to a meager .083 hitting clip.

Lucie Blažková had perhaps her best all-around match of the year, finishing with seven kills on .700 hitting, five blocks, and an ace for 11 points.

Melina Christodoulou matched her intensity with 10 kills, three blocks, and 12 total points to pace an efficient WSU attack.

Livia Ward directed the offense with precision, dishing out 22 assists and adding an ace a kill of her own. Italia Bernal chipped in 13 assists and two aces, while Tinons Munar Galmés anchored the defense with 10 digs and an ace.

At the net, Washington State's block was unstoppable. The Cougars totaled 12 team blocks, compared to just six for Pacific, with Camryn Lingenbrink and Mary Healy combining for eight rejections. Healy also added eight kills, while Taryn Vrieling continued her consistent offensive form with seven kills on .429 hitting.

WSU wasted no time seizing control, hitting a blistering .520 in the opening frame while holding the visiting Tigers to just 14 points. The Cougars' front line dominated early, led by Christodoulou and Blažková, who each delivered multiple kills and combined for key blocks to set the tone defensively.

The second set featured more resistance from the Tigers, but the Cougars answered with a late 7-2 WSU burst, highlighted by back-to-back service aces from Bernal, to seal the frame 25-19. In the third, Washington State's depth shone through as multiple hitters contributed to a balanced closeout effort.


NOTES

• With a .700 hitting percentage today, Blažková is at a .442 clip for the season and currently sits with the highest single-season hitting percentage in WSU history.
• With six service aces in the match, the 2025 team currently sits with the second-highest aces per set average in WSU history with 1.82.
• Eliana Ti'a matched a career high with four total blocks.
• WSU finished with 12 total blocks as a team, matching its season high (12, vs. Seton Hall)
• Blažková had one solo block to move to 62 career solo blocks, eighth all-time at WSU.

The Cougars will head west for a Sunday match at Oregon State on Sunday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. The match will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
