Cougars Head to Texas for Battle for the Boot

PULLMAN, Calif. (Oct. 22, 2025) – The Washington State Women's Tennis team will send two players to Fort Worth, Texas to compete in the TCU JAE Foundation Battle for the Boot, Oct. 23-25.
 
The Cougars are coming off the ITA Northwest Regional tournament where the doubles team of Eva Alvarez Sande and Maxine Murphy reached the doubles final, falling in a third-set tiebreaker.  Redshirt-junior Yura Nakagawa and sophomore Chisato Kanemaki will represent Washington State at the tournament.
 
The Cougars will face TCU in doubles first followed by two singles matches against the host Horned Frogs.
 
In addition to Washington State and host TCU, other teams participating in the tournament are SMU, BYU, Baylor, Rice, Notre Dame, Texas Tech and Nebraska.
