Cross Country Set for Nuttycombe Invitational

MADISON, Wisc. (Oct. 15, 2025) – Washington State Cross Country heads to Madison, Wisconsin, Friday, Oct. 17, for the 2025 Nuttycombe Invitational at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course. The Women's A Race will start at 9:50 am PT and the Men's A Race will start at 10:30 am PT.

It will be a very deep field for the Nuttycomb, as 21 of the top-30 women's nationally-ranked teams are competing while 17 of the top-30 men's programs are registered. In the most recent USFTCCCA national rankings, the Cougar men are ranked 21st while the women are 27th.

In addition to Washington State, participating schools include Butler, BYU, Cal Baptist, Colorado, Duke, Eastern Michigan, Furman, Georgetown, Gonzaga, Harvard, Indiana, Iona, Iowa State, Lipscomb, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, NC State, New Mexico, North Carolina, Northern Arizona, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Penn State, Providence, Portland, Stanford, Syracuse, Toledo, Tulane, Tulsa, Utah, Utah State, Villanova, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Last Time Out: Gans Creek Classic (Sept. 26)
- Rosemary Longisa smashed the course record with a time of 19 minutes and 7 seconds, winning the race by seven-tenths of a second, and national runner of the week
- Solomon Kipchoge also set a course record and personal best time of 22 minutes and 24.7 seconds, winning the race and national runner of the week
- Zenah Cheptoo finished in 19 minutes and 20.8 seconds, a personal best time, and Caroline Jepkorir finished in 20 minutes and 10.6 seconds, also a personal best
Vincent Koech finished with a season-best time of 23 minutes and 43.3 seconds, while Kustoven Stevens set a personal best time of 24 minutes and 6.3 seconds.
