SAN FRANCISCO (Sept. 13, 2025) – Redshirt-senior Maxine Murphy captured a pair of singles victories Saturday to advance to the consolation final at the Battle in the Bay, played at the California Tennis Club.
Murphy began the day with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Colorado's Lera Alexin before posting a 6-3, 7-6 (5) victory over TCU's Letizia Corsini in the consolation semifinal. Murphy will face Arizona State's Vivian Ovrootsky, the No. 5 seed, in Sunday's consolation final.
Murphy's teammate, Eva Alvarez Sande, was playing in a back draw match and dropped a 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (12-10) contest to TCU's Raquel Caballero Chica.
