PULLMAN, Wash. (June 26, 2024) – Washington State Rowing had four named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District on Tuesday.
Fifth-Year senior
Eliza Dawson, seniors
Ainsley Tiernan and
Sydney Wick, and junior
Izabela Janecek all earned the honor. Dawson will advance as a finalist on the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
Dawson was an impactful member of the WSU 1V8 boat all season, and ended the year at the Pac-12 Championships where the eight placed fifth in 6:46.36. Earlier in the season, she helped the Cougar 1V8 win their event at the 2024 Wheeler Invitational in 6:53.35 over then-No. 16 ranked Duke.
Dawson adds Academic All-District honors to her list of achievements this year after being named CRCA All-American on June 7, a CRCA Scholar-Athlete on June 6, and garnering 2024 Pac-12 All-Conference Team honors on May 24.
Tiernan appeared in 10 races for WSU as a coxswain of the 1V8, helping the boat to two first-place finishes and three second-place finishes during the year. She was also named a 2024 CRCA Scholar-Athlete on June 6.
Wick also appeared in 10 races for WSU and stroked the 1V8, helping the boat to two first-place finishes and three second-place finishes during the year. She was named a 2024 CRCA Scholar-Athlete as well.
Janecek appeared in 10 events in both the 1V4 and 2V8 boats in 2023-24, seeing three second-place finishes and a third-place finish during the season while also being named a 2024 CRCA Scholar-Athlete.
