Cougars open week with day one at Bryan Clay, Whitworth Twilight

AZUSA, Calif./ SPOKANE, Wash. — Kelvin Limo clocked a season-best time 3,000m steeplechase time of 8:48.93, the top time in the Pac-12, and Caroline Jerotich finished Thursday's women's steeplechase with a 10:08.53, the third-best time in the conference, to kick off the three-day Bryan Clay Invitational.  Washington State men's and women's track and field teams combined for five event wins back at the Whitworth Twilight, while Thursday's distance carnival at the Bryan Clay Invitational opens a busy three days in Southern California for the Cougars.

Whitworth Twilight Meet Recap
Washington State tallied five total field wins and a pair of wins on the track in the one-day Whitworth Twilight and Alumni meet from Boppell Track at Whitworth Pine Bowl.

Madisyn Negro picked up her first-career win after clearing 3.53m in the women's pole vault while Brayden Freitag led four Cougars at the top of the leaderboard with a 4.93m vault to win the men's competition.  AJ McGloflin (2.03m) and Antoni Smith (1.98m) finished first and second, respectively, in the men's high jump competition.

Ashley Hollenbeck won the 100m dash in 12.30 and Lily Herman finished in a lifetime-best 2:15.89 to win the women's 800m run.
