Second Half Spurs Cougs to 91-74 Win Over Bradley

PULLMAN, Wash. –The Washington State men's basketball team defeated Bradley, 91-74, Friday night in Beasley Coliseum.
Big Picture: Washington State moves to 2-0 with both wins at home to start the season.
Player Performances: Cedric Coward and Nate Calmese each had a game-high of 18 points, with Calmese also dishing out a career-high six assists. Dane Erikstrup recorded 16 points with seven rebounds and fellow big man Ethan Price recorded 14 points with six rebounds. LeJuan Watts added 12 points and 11 rebounds for his second-career double-double.
Between the Lines: All throughout the game the Cougars attacked the basket, to go along with 32 points in the paint, Wazzu attempted 27 free throws, the most in a game since 11/22/2021, versus Winthrop.
Turning point: Coming out of halftime, the Washington State offense found its rhythm early. The Cougs spent the first seven minutes of the half on a 19-1 run, fueled by five triples to extend their lead to 64-43 and never looked back.
Coach Riley's Comments: "I thought it was a great game. Bradley is a veteran team with a lot of returners and our guys answered the bell. It was a really fun game and the message to our team was, were going to score the ball, we have a great offensive team. But when we lockdown like we did in that second half we can be a great team on both sides of the ball."
Crowd Energy: The 3,982 fans in attendance marked the largest nonconference crowd at Beasley Coliseum since Dec. 2, 2015 when nearly 9,000 attended WSU vs Gonzaga on Friel Court.
