COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (November 26, 2024) – Washington State swimmers
Emily Lundgren and
Darcy Revitt each earned Mountain West Conference Swimmer of the Week honors, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Lundgren was named the MWC Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season while Revitt was named the Freshman of the Week for the third time. Revitt was named both the Swimmer of the Week and Freshman of the Week in October before Lundgren and Revitt earned the same accolades in early November. Junior
Dori Hathazi was named swimmer of the week in late October.
Lundgren helped the Cougars to a third-place finish at the Art Adamson Invite hosted by No. 22 Texas A&M. The junior from Chula Vista, Calif. won the 100 breast and 200 breast, finished second in the 100 fly, breaking her own school record in the event along the way. Lundgren also posted NCAA "B" times in the 100 breast, 200 breast, 100 fly and 200 IM while her 200 breast time would have met the 2024 NCAA invite standards and her 100 breast, 100 fly and 200 IM times were the best in the Mountain West Conference this season. Lundgren's 200 breast time of 2:08.16 was a Mountain West record. Lundgren also helped the 200 and 400 medley relays place third and second, respectively.
Revitt picked up her fourth Mountain West weekly honor and third freshman of the week accolade of the season after recording two NCAA "B" times as an individual and was a member of two record-setting relay teams. The freshman from Guildford, England was third in the 50 free with a 22.45, good for the second-best time in the Mountain West this season and tied for the second-fastest 50 free time in program history. Revitt's 100 free time of 49.02 was the third-fastest time in the conference this season and third-fastest time in school history with both the 50 free and 100 free good for NCAA "B" times. Revitt also led off the 200 free and 400 relay teams who both set schools records and finished second at the meet.
