Cougs in the MLB 2024: Kyle Manzardo Season Recap

The Guardians finish the season with a record of 92-69, winning the AL Central, and clinching the second seed in the AL. In his first year in the majors, Manzardo closes out the season with a batting average of .234, with 34 hits and five home runs. He also batted in 15 runs, while scoring 11 runs himself. Manzardo did not have an error on the defensive side of the ball this season.
 
Manzardo was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays with the 63^rd overall pick in the 2^nd round of the 2021 MLB Draft. In 2022, Manzardo was named Minor League Player of the Year by the Rays Baseball Operations department. He was ranked the second-best prospect in the Guardians system entering this year. He made his MLB Debut on May 6^th against the Detroit Tigers.
 
The Guardians will start the playoffs on Saturday, October 5^th against the winner of the Houston Astros and Detroit Tigers series.
