Day 1 | Split, Croatia
The Cougs arrived at the Split airport Sunday afternoon and were greeted by the tour guide from Basketball Travelers and before they knew it, they were on a bus gazing out at the ocean, climbing into the hills surrounding Split toward the converted countryside villa, Stella Croatica.
After a wonderful meal, a tour of the grounds and a sampling of the local confections made on property, the team rode the bus back to the Split City Center to check in to the hotel and get ready for the evening.
Astera Tuhina joined the Cougs at the hotel fresh from competing for the Kosovo National Team and just in time for the Split city and Diocletians Palace walking tour. The tour took the Cougs back in time 1,700 years to the fourth century when Roman Emperor Diocletian built his retirement palace on the site of present-day Split.
Everyone then was free to explore Split and enjoy sightseeing and dinner on their own.
