PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State men's and women's track and field teams will split its travel for the last time this spring as the Cougars get set to compete in the Fresno State Invitational (Apr. 28-29) and the Oregon State High Performance Meet (Apr. 28-29) this weekend. The two meets will be the final competitions of the season leading into next month's Pac-12 Outdoor Track & Field Championships (May 12-14) in Walnut, Calif.

Louie Hinchliffe set a new Washington State freshman record earlier this month at the Mt SAC Relays with a 10.22 in the men's 100m elite invitational, the third-fastest time in the Pac-12 this season.

Nana Gyedu improved on her lifetime best at the Mt SAC Relays with the second-best women's shot put mark (15.63m) in program history and the seventh-best in the Pac-12 this season.

Caroline Jerotich ranks fourth in the Pac in the women's steeplechase after a 10:14.57 to place third at the Mt SAC Relays. Her PR was also the third-fastest in WSU program history.

Alaina Stone Boggs clocked the second-fastest 5,000m run in WSU history with a 16:08.95 to place seventh at the Mt SAC Relays.

Lee Walburn finished the decathlon at the Texas Relays with 7,323 points, the third-best mark in the Pac-12 this season.

Jared McAlvey was named Pac-12 Track Athlete of the Week back in March after posting a 50.90, the third-best time in the Pac this season, to win the event at the season-opening GCU Invitational.

Elise Unruh-Thomas (23.71) and
Jasneet Nijjar (23.77), moved into sixth and seventh all-time, respectively, in the women's 200m dash after their performances at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
- Nijjar, a senior sprinter from Canada, sits in the top-20 in the Pac-12 in both the 200m (23.77, 20th) and the 400m (53.87, 18th).

Washington State will have a one-week break before heading back to Walnut, Calif., for the 2023 Pac-12 Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Qualifying student-athletes will continue their season at the 2023 NCAA West Preliminary Round (May 24-27) in Sacramento, Calif. The top performers at each preliminary round will wrap up the outdoor season in Austin, Texas at the 2023 NCAA Championships (June 7-10) from Mike Myers Stadium.
