Walton and Hinchliffe headline final day of WSU Open & Multi

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Skyler Walton (7.40) dropped the all-time women's 60m dash record while Louie Hinchliffe set a men's 60m freshman record in just his second-career meet as Washington State's indoor track and field team closed out the WSU Open & Multi Saturday at The Podium. The Cougars produced three all-time marks on the day between the in the 60m dash and men's shot put.Â

Women's Recap
Walton (7.40)Â continued her stellar senior season as she finished the 60m dash in second place and set a new program record by .04 seconds.Â

The 60m-hurdles domination continues for the Cougars as Maribel Caicedo won the 60m hurdles for the third straight meet at 8.17. Micaela De Mello (8.35, 3rd) followed suit claiming her third-consecutive podium finish in the event.Â

The Cougars grabbed two thirds of the women's 400m podium as Jasneet Nijjar produced a season best time (54.67) to place second while Elena Willems sprinted to a personal-best 55.66 to claim third place.Â

Nana Gyedu continued her strong start to her sophomore season with a season-best 15.30m throw in the shot put for her fourth straight podium finish.Â

Men's Recap
Louie Hinchliffe (6.71) set the freshman record in the 60m dash and moved into seventh all-time for the 60m dash. Almost every Cougar notched a personal best time in the event. Â

Ronald Grueso Mosqquera shattered his personal best distance in the shot put with a massive throw of 18.55m to jump into seventh all-time for WSU. Grueso Mosqquera is currently seventh all-time for the Cougars and 31st in the country.Â

Jared McAlvey shot off the block for a personal-best time of 47.67 seconds to take second while Ethan Willems finished just behind McAlvey at 48.19 seconds to place fourth.Â
