NCAA Tournament returns to Bohler Gym, Cougs earn No. 4 seed

PULLMAN, Wash. — No. 11 Washington State (24-7) will host the first two rounds of the 2023 NCAA Tournament as the Cougars were selected for an eighth consecutive NCAA postseason as a No. 4 seed which was announced by the NCAA women's volleyball committee Sunday night.  Sunday's announcement officially marks the seventh time in Cougar volleyball history that the NCAA Tournament has been hosted by Washington State and the first since a 2018 run that saw it defeat Northern Arizona and Tennessee, respectively, to advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time under head coach Jen Greeny.

PULLMAN, Wash. — No. 11 Washington State (24-7) will host the first two rounds of the 2023 NCAA Tournament as the Cougars were selected for an eighth consecutive NCAA postseason as a No. 4 seed which was announced by the NCAA women's volleyball committee Sunday night.  Sunday's announcement officially marks the seventh time in Cougar volleyball history that the NCAA Tournament has been hosted by Washington State and the first since a 2018 run that saw it defeat Northern Arizona and Tennessee, respectively, to advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time under head coach Jen Greeny.

With six ranked wins on a season that saw Washington State finish in a tie for third-place in the Pac-12 with the most wins in a season under coach Greeny (24), the Cougars will now get a chance to defend home court having already earned a 12-4 record so far this season in Bohler.

The fourth-seeded Cougars will welcome Grand Canyon (23-7) for a first round match in Bohler Gym on Friday, Dec. 1, with the lone second round match in Pullman scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 2, both matches starting at 7 p.m.  The opening first round match in Bohler Gym between Pepperdine (19-8) and Dayton (31-2) will take place on Friday, Dec. 1, at 4 p.m.
