PULLMAN, Wash. – Emily Marcouiller joined the Washington State women's soccer coaching staff as an assistant coach, WSU Head Coach Todd Shulenberger announced Friday. Marcouiller has served as a head coach, senior women's administrator, and club academy director.

"I want to thank Coach Todd for this opportunity to join his staff and continue to build a nationally competitive soccer program here at Washington State," Marcouiller said. "I'm looking forward to the Pullman community and have already felt the Cougar pride. I'm excited to be on the Palouse and working to continue the success of Cougar soccer. Go Cougs!"

Marcouiller served one season as Florida Southern College women's soccer assistant coach after spending two seasons as the women's soccer head coach for Spring Hill College. In her lone season with the Mocs, Marcouiller and head coach Paul Lawrence led FSC to the most successful season in program history, garnering its first SSC Regular Season Championship with a 12-1-3 regular season record. Prior to her arrival in Lakeland, she was Spring Hill's interim coach during the 2019 season and served as the Badgers' assistant coach during the 2017 and 2018 seasons. Marcouiller also served as the Senior Women's Administrator and Deputy Title IX Coordinator while at Spring Hill.

"We are excited to have Emily joining our staff," Coach Shulenberger said. "She brings a wealth of experience, not only as a coach, but also as a student-athlete herself, a senior women's administrator, and an academy director. Emily has her finger on the pulse of the soccer landscape in this country, which will be invaluable as we continue to grow WSU as a premier soccer club."

Before her time with the Badgers, Marcouiller served as the Girls' Academy Director for Tennessee Soccer Club (TSC) in Nashville, Tenn., where TSC recently had taken steps to join the Elite Clubs National League, the premier league competition for girls' soccer in the US. TSC also had seven teams win Tennessee State Championships, nine teams attend US Youth Soccer (USYSA) Championship Series Regionals and two teams compete at USYSA Nationals, one of which won a National Championship in 2017.

Prior to her time with TSC, Marcouiller served as the head coach at St. Cecilia Academy in Nashville where she led the program to three district championships and four trips to the elite round of the Tennessee High School Athletic Association (THSAA) playoffs. Under her development and leadership, the girls' soccer program earned 28 All-District, 20 All-Region and five All-State player selections with Marcouiller earning Region Coach of the Year honors.

Marcouiller was a Girls' Director of Coaching at Harpeth Soccer Club for six years prior to leading the program at St. Cecilia. She was the direct point of contact for all coaches, referees, parents and players in programs. She was at the forefront in the technical development of the girls program while working hand-in-hand with players and staff to contribute to success of the younger athletes. She also assisted in the promotion, management and oversight of the competitive tryouts and program advancement.

On the field, Marcouiller had extensive playing experience that included competing at the NCAA Division I level with the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) where she graduated in 2006. She then moved on to semi-professional play with the Las Vegas Tabagators. Marcouiller holds her NSCAA National Diploma and USSF National licenses.
