SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Washington State Tennis saw three singles matches go to a third set but it was not enough as the Cougars fell 7-0 to UC Santa Barbara Friday afternoon at the Arnhold Tennis Center.
 
The Cougars (4-3) opened the day in doubles and 
Savanna Ly-Nguyen and 
Elyse Tse highlighted play as they posted a 6-2 win over Marta GonzalezBalbe and Camille Kiss at No. 3. The Gauchos (3-4) captured the top two doubles matches to take the opening point.
 
In singles play, No. 1 
Michaela Bayerlova, No. 5 
Fifa Kumhom and No. 6 
Hania Abouelsaad all went to a third set. With the match outcome already decided, all three played a 10-point tiebreaker in place of a third set.
 
Washington State concludes its two-match swing through southern California Saturday when it faces San Diego at the Arnhold Tennis Center. Match time is set for 10:30 a.m.
