"We are excited to welcome Brent, Jen, Ella and Stella to Pullman," said Chun. "Brent is an experienced athletic administrator with a strong background in fiscal management who will provide great leadership in our department."
In this position, Meyer is responsible for all business operations within WSU Athletics, including budget development, implementation and reporting as well as oversight of non-sport contracts and department audits. He will also represent the athletic department on fiscal issues throughout campus and with all external agencies, such as the NCAA and Pac-12 Conference.
"My family and I are excited to join the WSU family," said Meyer. "I have long admired the competitive, across the board success attained by Cougar student-athletes. I thank
Pat Chun and
Anne McCoy for this opportunity and I'm excited to partner with them and our entire administrative team in supporting our coaches and student-athletes in their pursuit of championships. Go Cougs!"
Before arriving at Washington State, Meyer spent eight years at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he served on the senior leadership team as the executive associate athletic director/CFO. There he was responsible for the day-to-day fiscal operations, providing leadership and management to the athletic department. In this role he worked closely with their third-party multimedia rights and concessionaire partners on all fiscal and operational matters and was also the sport administrator for women's volleyball.
Prior to Omaha, Meyer worked in the private sector, most recently as the vice president for finance at Goosehead Insurance in Dallas, Texas as well as working for the accounting firm of KPMG in San Antonio, Texas.
Meyer received his bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas in May 2003 and maintains an active CPA license. He and his wife, Jen, have two daughters, Emma and Stella.
