14 Cougars Recognized as USTFCCCA All-Academic

NEW ORLEANS – The Washington State University women's and men's track and field programs had 14 student-athletes nationally recognized as United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honorees as announced by the organization Wednesday.

NEW ORLEANS – The Washington State University women's and men's track and field programs had 14 student-athletes nationally recognized as United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honorees as announced by the organization Wednesday.
 
From the WSU women's team, Antonia Buschendorf, Jasneet Nijjar, Aislinn Overby, Pia Richards, Anna Rodgers, Peyton Teevens, Elise Unruh-Thomas and Skyler Walton were each honored as USTFCCCA All-Academic. Jacob Englar, Sam Griffith, Colton Johnsen, John Kolb, Jared McAlvey, and Zach Stallings represented the WSU men on the 2021-22 all-academic list.
 
Both men's and women's programs were also recognized with the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award as the men's team finished the spring semester with a collective 3.14 cumulative GPA while the women's program combined for an impressive 3.42 cumulative GPA.
USTFCCCA All-Academic honorees were selected based on a combination of both athletic and academic performance standards.
 
Team selections require a minimum combined cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher for all student-athletes on the teams' indoor or outdoor NCAA squad list.
 
Individual honorees are required to have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) with at least two completed semesters at the nominating institution. For the indoor season, individuals must also finish in the top 96 of any individual event or top 48 in any relay event, certifiable by their place on final season performance lists on TFRRS for Indoor T&F. For the outdoor season, individuals are required to qualify and compete in any round of the NCAA Championships (NCAA Preliminary Round or NCAA Championships competitions) or for the multi events, must have finished in the Top 48 of the West region, certifiable by their place on final season performance lists on TFRRS for Outdoor T&F.
