Academic Services Announces December Student-Athletes of the Month

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State women's basketball's Shir Levy and Men's Basketball's Ryan Rapp have been named the Academic Services Student-Athletes of the Month for December 2021.

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State women's basketball's Shir Levy and Men's Basketball's Ryan Rapp have been named the Academic Services Student-Athletes of the Month for December 2021.

A senior on the women's basketball team, Levy is a two-time all-academic honoree who is a double major in psychology and communication and recently applied to the psychology Ph.D. program at WSU. She has participated in two research projects this year in the psychology department to further her education and career goals. Out of the classroom she has been part of multiple Cougar Pursuit programs. On the court, Levy and her Cougs head into Pac-12 play 8-3 on the year as they pursue their second-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. On the year she has seen action in five games for the Cougs.

A third-year guard on the men's basketball team, Rapp earned all-academic honors as a sophomore in his first season of eligibly. He is currently pursuing a degree in finance that he hopes to finish early in just three years. Off the court he has spent time volunteering at local Pullman school alongside of his teammates. On the court, Rapp has played in seven games on the year as the Cougs finished out nonconference play. He was at his best against local rival Idaho when he went off for 12 points in just six minutes of action going 3-of-4 from the field including 2-of-3 from deep.
