WEEK PREVIEW
The Cougars head into week two of the 2021 spring season with a 1-1 overall record after spliting the series with Oregon at home. The WSU offense was led by sophomore Pia Timmer who posted 28 total kills, 3.11 kills per set, and two aces. Timmer recorded two straight double-doubles as well, with 29 overall digs on the weekend.
Freshman Julianna Dalton had an impressive debut for the Cougars with 27 total kills in two matches, 3.00 kills per set, and an attack percentage of .222. Dalton also leads Washington State in total blocks through two matches with 10.0 total. Sophomore Hannah Pukis anchored the Cougars with 78 total assists, and 32 digs, posting back-to-back double-doubles.
LAST TIME OUT
Washington State Volleyball fell in the second match-up against the Ducks of Oregon inside Bohler Gym, by a final score of 3-2. Set scores from the match were: 19-25, 25-20, 19-25, 25-22, and 8-15 in favor of Oregon (1-1, 1-1 Pac-12). Julianna Dalton posted 14 kills in the match, a career-high for the freshman. Dalton also tied a career-high in total blocks with five, and added a kill percentage of .326 in the contest. Pia Timmer also posted her second double-double of the year with 12 kills, and a career-high 17 digs.
