PULLMAN, Wash. -- Washington State Director of Athletics Patrick Chun announced the addition of Jon Haarlow as WSU Athletics senior associate athletic director/chief financial officer.

His background in collegiate athletics and higher education will greatly benefit our student-athletes, coaches and the entire university."
 
As WSU's, senior associate athletic director/chief financial officer, Haarlow is responsible for all business operations, including budget development, implementation and reporting as well as oversight of non-sport contracts and department audits. He will also represent the athletic department on fiscal issues throughout campus and with all external agencies, such as the NCAA and Pac-12 Conference.

Haarlow arrives at Washington State having spent the previous three years at Lamar University where he served as the Senior Associate Athletics Director/Chief Operating Officer. Haarlow began his time in Beaumont as Associate Athletics Director/Chief Financial Officer in June 2018 before being elevated a year later.
 
At Lamar, Haarlow was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the athletic department with direct oversight of finance, operations, facilities, ticket office, contracts, licensing, capital projects, branding, procurement, and strategic planning. He managed the overall strategic financial planning, development, and administration of the athletic department budget and had direct oversight on numerous facility projects.
 
Prior to Lamar, Haarlow spent two years at Abilene Christian University as the manager of financial planning, budgeting, and capital campaign and facilities where he oversaw a $130 million operating budget and provided financial analysis to the chief business officer on capital projects, vendor contracts and financial forecasting.
 
Haarlow moved into the financial operations office after serving in the Wildcats' athletics department. During his time as the assistant director of athletics for internal operations, Haarlow oversaw all financial responsibilities for the entire department. In addition to his work with the department's budget, Haarlow also coordinated all game operations and special events.
 
He spent three years in Albuquerque, N.M., serving as a program specialist at the University of New Mexico before making the move to Abilene. During his time at UNM, Haarlow oversaw a staff of fiscal technicians who provided support for the day-to-day business operations to the university's 22 varsity sports and the support staff.

Haarlow received his bachelor's degree from Indiana in May 2009, and in December of the following year, received his master's degree from New Mexico.
