PULLMAN, Wash. -- Washington State Athletics congratulates the 57 Cougar student-athletes who completed their WSU athletic careers this past year and will be recognized as part of the university's virtual, interactive celebration to honor their successes at the close of the academic year. The event, Saturday, May 9, honored new graduates at all WSU locations.
Â
"Congratulations to the 2019-20 graduates of Washington State University," said WSU Director of Athletics
Pat Chun. "We applaud them for their collective dedication and commitment, especially during this unique final semester. We wish our newest alums nothing but success as they begin the next great chapter of their lives."
Â
This year's senior class includes representatives for all 17 sports at WSU and features President's Honor Roll members, Academic All-Americans, school record holders, All-Americans and draft picks from multiple professional sports.
"Hats off to these history-making 2020 graduates!" said WSU Faculty Athletic Representative
Nancy Swanger. "As the first, and hopefully only, class to have their entire final semester turned upside down due to a pandemic, these student-athletes were resilient and still finished to win the most important game of their young lives—some through the loss of their senior season, some through a missed draft opportunity, and some who were headed to the Olympic trials."
