FAIRFAX, Calif – The Washington State women's golf team opens up a busy March with a trip down to California this week to take part in the Meadow Club Invitational, hosted by the University of San Francisco and San Jose State. The two-day tournament will begin on Monday, March 9, and conclude on Tuesday, March 10, with play beginning at 8:30 a.m. PT on both days.
THE LINEUP – Representing the Cougs will be senior
Marie Lund-Hansen, freshman
Jiye Ham, sophomore
Amy Chu, junior
Emily Baumgart, and sophomore
Darcy Habgood. Senior
Elodie Bridenne will be golfing as an individual.
THE COURSE – The Meadow Club Invitational will take place on the par-72, 6,157-yard course at the Meadow Golf Club in Fairfax, California. The tournament's first 36 holes will be played on Monday, while the final 18 will be held on Tuesday.
THE FIELD – This 13-team tournament will feature WSU, California, Colorado State, Gonzaga, Kansas State, Minnesota, Northern Arizona, Oregon State, Pepperdine, Rutgers, San Francisco, San Jose State, and in-state rival Washington.
COACH KAMIMURA ON THE TOURNAMENT – "We are looking forward to heading to Northern California this week. We have played in this event the last few years and always look forward to competing at Meadow Club. The team has been working hard and used stats from our last event to prepare.'"
LAST TIME OUT –Senior
Marie Lund-Hansen claimed a top-25 finish, going just 3-over in her final two rounds at the Bruin/Wave Invitational. Not far behind was freshman
Jiye Ham, who finished in a tie for 28 th with a score of 233 (+17).
