SEATTLE – The Washington State University Track and Field program finished the weekend on the road at the Husky Classic inside the Dempsey Indoor on the campus of the University of Washington.
Faimalie Sale continued to impress during her freshman campaign with the Cougars, as she shattered the Washington State freshman record in the weight throw with a mark of 59-feet 7 1/2 inches (18.17m). Sale also now ranks fifth all-time in WSU history in the event as well.
Kaylee Sowle went on to finish fourth overall in the high jump event with a mark of 5-feet 5-inches (1.65m), and
Bryana Rogers finished fifth overall in the triple jump with a mark of 37-feet 9 1/4 inches (11.51m) also.
The men's distance crew led the way for the Cougars at the Husky Classic, as
Colton Johnsen ran a PR of 7:57.58 in the 3000-meter event for a 15th place finish.
Zach Stallings led WSU in the mile with a PR of 4:03.41, and
Corey Allen went on to post an 11th place finish in the 200-meter dash.
Daylon Hicks recorded the best overall individual finish for Washington State at the meet, placing fourth overall in the high jump with a mark of 6-feet 7-inches (2.01m).
