ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Washington State University Track and Field program saw big performances throughout the two-day meet, as the Cougars competed inside the ABQ Convention Center.
Charisma Taylor continued to improve in the triple jump, as she recorded a mark of 44-feet 2 3/4 inches (13.48m), besting her previous PR, and the previous Washington State record, and currently ranks sixth in the nation in the event as well.
Leonie Reuter claimed the number two spot in the high jump event with a mark of 5-feet 10-inches (1.78m) overall.
Kreete Verlin led WSU in the long jump, posting a mark of 20-feet 1/2-inch (6.11m). Fellow Coug
Lauren Newman also recorded a top ten finish in the event, with a PR of 19-feet 5 1/2 inch (5.93m). Verlin also posted a time of 7.44 in the qualifying round of the 60-meter dash, which is tied for the best 60m dash time in WSU women's history with current teammate
Jordyn Tucker.
Luzia Herzig displayed an impressive showing in the pole vault, as she posted a mark of 13-feet 1 3/4 inches (4.01m), which also ranks seventh all-time in WSU history.
Sam Brixey anchored the men's squad with a victory in the 60-meter hurdles, posting a PR of 7.72 for the win. Brixey's time also keeps him within the all-time top ten list in Washington State history at fifth overall.
Mitch Jacobson recorded a PR of 7-feet 1-inch (2.16m) in the high jump, placing fourth overall as well.
Ja'Maun Charles posted a PR in the long jump as he recorded a mark of 22-feet 6 1/4 inches (6.86m) to take 18th overall.
RayRay Wells Jr. went on to claim second overall in the 60-meter dash, as he recorded a time of 6.62 seconds.
