COUGARS AT BOISE STATE, UW
The Washington State Track and Field program looks to build off the success from a season ago heading into the 2020 indoor campaign. Returning to the WSU squad are seniors Emmanuel "RayRay" Wells Jr., and Paul Ryan, both who competed at the 2019 NCAA Championships. The women's squad will see the return of sophomore Charisma Taylor, who made an incredible impact in her first year with the Crimson and Gray. Taylor set the Washington State women's indoor record in the 60-meter hurdles, and the triple jump, along with setting the university record in the women's outdoor triple jump. Multiple notable Cougars look to be in action during the 2020 indoor season which includes Stephanie Cho, Chandler Teigen, Suzy Pace, Cameron Dean, Sam Brixey, Nick Johnson, Jordyn Tucker, Emily Coombs, Chrisshnay Brown, and Jake Ulrich.Â

Stephanie Cho led the WSU women's squad with a first place finish in the 400-meter race with a PR of 54.61 overall. Chrisshnay Brown took home the top spot in the shot put with a mark of 47-feet 3 inches (14.40m). Aislinn Overby picked up the victory in the high jump with a PR of 5-feet 6 inches (1.68m), and Skyler Walton notched a win in the 60-meter dash in her Washington State track debut with a time of 7.81 also.
Daylon Hicks led the Washington State men, winning the high jump with a mark of 6-feet 6 3/4 inches (2.00m) in his first appearance in a Cougar uniform. Finishing just behind Hicks in the high jump were fellow Cougars Beau Sheeran in second place, and in third was Taino Ferdinand. Sam Brixey turned in a fifth place overall finish in the long jump with a mark of 22-feet 5 3/4 inches (6.85m) as well.

The NCAA uses national descending order lists to determine the competitors for the 2020 Indoor Championships...these lists can be viewed at the United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Track & Field Results Reporting System website (www.tfrrs.org)...the top 16 individuals and 12 relays will move on to compete at the NCAA Indoor Championships March 13-14 at Albuquerque, New Mexico (University of New Mexico host)...best marks for the Cougars throughout the 2020 indoor season can be found at www.wsucougars.com.
