SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Washington State University Track and Field concluded competition at the NCAA West Prelims Saturday evening with three additional qualifiers advancing to the NCAA Championships.
The Cougars saw top performances by multiple athletes entered in the high jump event.
Peyton Fredrickson punched his ticket to the NCAA Championships after clearing 7-feet 1 inch (2.16m).
Mitch Jacobson was not far behind as he too earned a bid to the NCAA Championships with a mark of 7-feet 1/4 inch (2.14m) in a jump off to advance.
Nick Johnson punched his ticket to the NCAA Championships in the 110-meter hurdles after posting a time of 13.91 to finished 11th overall.
Sam Brixey, and
Christapherson Grant each competed in the 110m hurdles as well Saturday evening, as Brixey went on to place 20th overall (14.08), and Grant finished 24th (14.41).
Charisma Taylor finished 26th overall in the triple jump with a mark of 41-feet 1/4 inch (12.50m), while
Chrisshnay Brown placed 27th in the shot put after a throw of 50-feet 2 1/2 inches (15.30m).
Keelan Halligan completed the high jump field for the Cougars, placing 31st with a mark of 6-feet 7 inches (2.01m). The WSU 4x100m relay squad finished 15th overall after recording a time of 40.14.
