SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Washington State Rowing competed at the two-day San Diego Crew Classic Invite at Mission Bay. In the first day of racing, all three of the Cougar's boats advanced to the finals for each of their races.

Emma Gribbon) earned third (6:35.130) behind California and Texas in the first heat for the Jessop Whittier Cup. Washington, Stanford and UCLA placed first, second and third in the second heat of the Jessop Whittier Cup to advance to the Grand Finals as well. WSU will race in the Grand Final of the Jessop-Whittier Cup Sunday at 10:32 a.m. against Washington, California, Stanford, Texas and UCLA.

This second place win advanced the Cougars to the Grand Final of the Jackie Ann Stitt Hungness Trophy on Sunday at 9:44 a.m. against California, No. 1 Washington, No. 3 Stanford, UCLA and No. 4 Texas.

Emma Barrett) finished with a time of 8:00.379 to earn third place behind Washington and Oklahoma in the second heat of the Women's Collegiate Varsity 4+ Karen Plumleigh Cortney Cup. The Cougars will compete in Final 2 Sunday at 8:24 a.m. against Tennessee, Gonzaga, San Diego State, San Diego and Loyola Marymount.
The second varsity four will compete Sunday, at 11:48 a.m. in the Women's Collegiate 4+ B Entries Only Final.
