LOS ANGELES – Washington State closed out its series at USC with a 10-10 tie after the game was called following the 12
th inning due to a travel day curfew.

The Cougars saw a 9-4 ninth-inning lead slip away and the Trojans also came back to erase WSU's 10-9 advantage in the 12
th inning. WSU received four hits from
Andres Alvarez and three hits from
Dillon Plew who also hit a grand slam. Cougar starter
A.J. Block struck out a career high eight and worked into the seventh inning.

In the first, USC jumped out to an early lead with a two-run homer but Block settled down and kept the Trojans off the board for the next four innings.

In the third,
Bradley Polinsky singled up the middle,
Danny Sinatro walked and Alvarez singled to left field to load the bases for Plew who hammered a 1-2 pitch over the right field wall for a grand slam and a 4-2 advantage. Following two singles,
Tyson Guerrero singled home a run and another run came home on an error later in the inning for a 6-2 advantage.

In the sixth, WSU pushed its lead to 8-2 after a USC throwing error allowed two runs to score on the play. The Trojans came back with two runs over their own in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead to 8-4.

In the ninth, the Cougars added a run on a
Garrett Gouldsmith RBI-groundout for a five-run lead. In the bottom of the inning, USC loaded the bases with three-straight one-out singles and two more singles brought three runs home to make it a two-run game. A sacrifice fly brought home another run to cut the WSU lead to one and a bases loaded hit-by-pitch allowed USC to tie the game.

In the 12th, Guerrero led off the inning with a double to right-centerfield and was bunted to third before
Kodie Kolden brought Guerrero home with a squeeze bunt for a 10-9 lead. In the bottom of the inning, the Trojans put the leadoff hitter on after being hit by a pitch and bunted him to second before an RBI-double down the right field line tied the game at 10.
