PULLMAN, WASH. - We recently had a chance to catch up with freshman right hander Zane Mills 

1. How do you like being a part of Cougar Baseball?

I think my teammates make the team really great because they are always looking out for me and we are always willing to support each other no matter what. Another reason I enjoy being at WSU is that the coaching staff is great and willing to help me with whatever I need.
 

2. Who is your favorite guy to play catch with?

Probably Ky Bush, because he is my best friend and he is pretty consistent, although he does throw some at my ankles which is a little frustrating.
 

3. Who is the toughest hitter you have faced?

Will Matthiessen from Stanford. He is 6'7 but it is really tough to try to get around the zone even though it is a big zone. He has really impressive bat speed, it was tough for me to get something by him.
 

4. What is your pregame song?

Probably Seek and Destroy by Metallica and it is my walkout song. That song gets me pumped up. I did not really chose the song but one of my teammates in high school started playing it one day before a game and it really just got me pumped up. I then went on and pitched pretty well and it has been my walkout song ever sense.
 

5. What position would you want to play if you were not a pitcher?

I would play 1st base, because it is not that hard and it's not a whole lot things to do (Smiling).
 

6. What is the best story from the road so far this season?

It was really fun when we went to UC Irvine. We all had dinner as a team at Wood Ranch Bar House. It wasn't anything really funny about it was just a really good team bonding experience, and I really enjoyed being around my teammates.
 

7. Who is your favorite MLB player?

My favorite MLB player would probably be Adam Ottavino, he used to play for the Rockies, but now he plays for the Yankees. He is my favorite pitcher because my ball moves like his and I try to model my game after his.
 

8. What place would you want to travel to if you got the chance?

I would travel to Portland to play against University of Portland because that is where I am from and I can see my family.
 

9. If you could switch lives with anybody who would it be?

I would probably be someone like Dan Bilzerian from Instagram because he doesn't really do a whole lot but he seems to be kind of living the dream making a ton of money, traveling, and partying on boats, he is always out and about and that seems like that would be fun to me.
 

10. What is your favorite football game from the fall?

I say the Oregon game was my favorite.  It was fun because I am from Portland but I have never been a Duck fan, so it was awesome seeing us blow them out.
