SEATTLE –
The Washington State University Track and Field program competed in the Husky Classic Friday, hosted by the University of Washington inside the Dempsey Indoor.
The original two-day event was rescheduled to just a single day of competition, Friday, Feb. 8, due to inclement weather moving into the Seattle area this weekend, potentially impacting travel.
Leading the way on the women's side for the Cougars was
Suzy Pace who took home first place in the high jump event at 5-feet 8 inches (1.73m).
Emma Jenkins broke the WSU Track and Field Indoor Freshman record in the 5000m event running a 16:49.99 overall.
Katelyn Frost turned in a fourth place performance in the pole vault with a PR of 12-feet 6 3/4 inches (3.83m) on the day as well.
For the WSU Men, the Cougars were led by
Joseph Heitman who turned in a second place overall finish in the 60m hurdles, running an 8.52.
Peyton Fredrickson placed second in the high jump event at 6-feet 11 inches (2.11m), and both
Max English, and
Beau Sheeran recorded PR days at 6-feet 7 inches (2.01m).
Nathan Wadhwani recorded a PR performance in the 5000m race at 14:12.321 as well.
