THIS WEEK - The Cougars start off the spring season Monday through Tuesday, Feb. 11-12 at Big Canyon Country Club at Newport Beach, Calif., in the Anteater Invitational, hosted by UC Irvine. 

THE COURSE - Big Canyon Country Club is a 7,024-yard course that will play at a par 72 this week...participants will play two rounds Monday, Feb. 11 for a total of 36 holes, and the final round Tuesday, Feb. 12 to complete the final 18 holes...teams will start at holes 1 and 10, with tee times ranging from 7:30-8:42 a.m. 

THIS TOURNAMENT - The Cougars last participated in the Anteater Invitational back in 2000, when in-state rival Washington won the tournament...last year, Long Beach State won the tournament for the fourth year in a row. 

THE FIELD - Joining the Cougars on the green will be UC Irvine, Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, CSUN, Central Arkansas, Grand Canyon, Santa Clara, Seattle, and UC Santa Barbara. 

LAST TIME ON THE GREEN - Washington State will be competing for the first time since November, when they competed in the Saint Mary's Intercollegiate at Pebble Beach, Calif...the Cougars took 17th on the field, lead by juniors Nicklaus Chiam and Daniel Kolar, tying for 45th.  

THE LINEUP - Representing the Cougars at Newport Beach will be seniors Grant Cole and AJ Armstrong, juniors Daniel Kolar, Nicklaus Chiam and Scott Redelsperger. 

COACHES - Dustin White continues to lead the Cougars in his third season as the head coach, after spending four years on the Cougar golf team from 1999-2003...Kevin Tucker will continue to assist White in his first year as an assistant coach after playing on the golf team from 2006-10. 

COUGARS SIGN TWO – During the early signing period, the Cougars signed two golfers for the 2019-20 season, Pono Yanagi out of Hilo, Hawaii, and Tianyu Wu out of Howey in the Hills, Fla.
