Morgan Weaver against South Carolina

Morgan Weaver, All-American

| By:
Kansas City, MO – For just the second time in program history the Cougars have an all-american in their ranks as senior Morgan Weaver was named a Third Team All-American by the United Soccer Coaches. Weaver joins all-time great Micaela Castain (2013) as the only Cougars to earn all-america honors at Washington State.

Etching her name among the best to have donned a Cougar uniform, Weaver put a cap on a stellar four-year career with her first career all-american award. Prior, the senior captain had garnered her third-straight all-region award with a selection to the first team.

On a year in which her team has risen to historic heights, Weaver set herself apart on the offensive end as she has posted 14 goals and five assists to lead the way. Accounting for 19 of the Cougars' 44 goals scored on the year, Weaver has had a foot in 43% of WSU's scoring in a year the Cougs have posted the third most goals in program history and the most in the last 26 seasons. For Weaver, her 14 goals on the year ranks fourth in single-season history and the most scored by a Cougar player in the last 26 years. Her 33 total points is tied for the third most in single-season history. Scoring in bunches, Weaver has notched four multi-goal games on the season including tying the program record with four goals in just 45 minutes against Colorado on senior day at Lower Soccer Field. In the postseason, Weaver has led the Cougs with three goals and one assist.

For her career, Weaver has posted 42 goals and 96 total points, both ranking second all-time in program history. Making the most of her time in front of goal, Weaver has notched 13 game-winners, including two this season, which ranks third in program history. Her nine multi-goal games ranks second all-time among Coug scorers.

Weaver, the newly minted all-american, leads the Cougars into the College Cup Friday, Dec. 6, when WSU takes on No. 1 seed North Carolina at 4 p.m. in the first of two national semifinals at Avaya Stadium in San Jose.
