Cougars Compete at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invite

THIS WEEK – Washington State Men's Golf finishes up a busy fall season with a trip down to Stockton, Calif. for the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational. The tournament runs Monday-Wednesday, Oct. 21-23 at The Reserve at Spanos Park hosted by the University of the Pacific.
THE FIELD – In addition to Washington State and host Pacific, which will field two teams, the 18-team tournament includes BYU, Cal Baptist, Cal State Northridge, Fresno State, Grand Canyon, Long Beach State, Nevada, Sacramento State, St. Mary's, Santa Clara, San Jose State, Seattle, South Dakota, UC Irvine and UC Riverside.
THE LINEUP – In for the Cougars this week are seniors Nicklaus Chiam and Daniel Kolar, and freshmen Christian Yanagi, Yuya Eguchi, and Clayton Thatcher.
COACH WHITE ON THE TOURNAMENT – "We are excited to get back out and build on our final rounds from Oregon State. We made some progress and feel good about the direction we're going. We need to continue to focus on what we can control and bring the same intensity from start to finish. Having played two weeks in a row, the guys have had plenty of reps and are looking forward to a solid tournament."
LAST TIME ON THE COURSE – The Cougars played in the Oregon State Invitational last week and finished with an 889 (+37) and tied for 11th place. Chiam lead the Cougars for the second straight tournament, hitting 218 (+5) putting him in a tie for 23rd place. Chiam's best round came in the second round where he fired in three birdies to shoot an even-par for the round.
COACHES - Dustin White continues to lead the Cougars in his fourth season as the head coach, after spending four years on the Cougar golf team from 1999-2003. Kevin Tucker continues to assist White in his second year as an assistant coach after playing for the Cougars from 2006-10.Â
