FRESNO, Calif. – Washington State swimming recorded five Top-5 finishes in the opening day of the Chick-Fil-A Invitational hosted by Fresno State Friday.
Sophomore
Keiana Fountaine finished third in the 200 free with a time of 1:52.09 beating her season best and senior
Ryan Falk came in fourth right behind Fountaine with a season best time of 1:52.88. Falk also came in fifth in the 500 free beating her season best at 5:00.48. Junior
Taylor McCoy joined in by placing fourth in the 400 IM clocking in at 4:25.75. Junior
Lauren Burckel placed fifth in the 100 breast clocking in at 1:04.65 beating her season best. The relay team of Keiana Foutaine,
Ryan Falk, Michee Van Rooyen and
Emily Barrier took third in 800 free clocking in at 7:39.27 to end the day.

Ryan Falk's fifth-place finish in the 50 free was the best she has done at this invitational and
Taylor McCoy was consistent as always in her races," head coach
Matt Leach said. "In the second session, we brought good energy, swam well and I was very excited with how the girls improved from session to session."

The Cougars will swim tomorrow to finish out the Chick-Fil-A Invitational.
