KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Washington State University men's basketball rising-senior, Jeff Pollard, has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court, recognizing those collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the 2018-19 season, the organization announced Wednesday.
A native of Bountiful, Utah, Pollard is completing his degree in business with an emphasis on management/operations and a minor in communications this summer. Pollard carries a 3.70 grade point average and will graduate in three years and will pursue his master's degree in business during the 2019-20 school year. He started 23 of the 29 games he played in this past season, averaging 4.8 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. He was named Pac-12 All-Academic First Team for the second-straight year in 2019.
The NABC Honors Court recognizes the talents of gifts that student-athletes possess off the court, and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom. In order to be named to the Honors Court, an athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria, which includes; was academically a junior or senior in 2018-19, carried a 3.2 or higher grade points average, and must have been at their current NCAA Division I, II, III or NAIA institution for at least one year.
