WSU Academic Services Announces September Student-Athletes of the Month

Football's Hayden Schmidt and soccer's Emma Dahline are September's honorees.
PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State football's Hayden Schmidt and soccer's Emma Dahline have been named the Academic Services Student-Athletes of the Month for September 2018.
A redshirt junior safety on the field, Schmidt (Mount Vernon, Wash.) is academically a senior majoring in mechanical engineering with a minor in Spanish. He is enrolled in the Honors College and a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. Schmidt has a 3.73 grade point average, which he's balanced while earning IFC Greek of the Year in 2017.
A redshirt junior goalkeeper, Dahline (Mill Creek, Wash.), is also a senior academically, majoring in biology, basic medical sciences/pre-health. Also a member of the Honors College, she carries a 3.44 GPA and is always a leader and role model to her teammates when it comes to academics. Dahline finds time between academics and athletics to serve as a peer academic counselor (PAC), work the night shift as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) and volunteer at the hospital. She will be graduating in three and a half years.
Each month Washington State Academic Services will honor a male and female student-athlete that demonstrates commitment to academics while participating in their sport.
