Women’s Golf Places Sixth in Coeur d’Alene

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho – The Washington State women's golf team finished the CDA Resort Collegiate Invitational in sixth place after carding a 296 in the final round of play. The Cougars finished the tournament with an overall score of 876(+24).

Junior Marie Lund-Hansen led the way for Cougars, finishing the tournament tied for 11th. Lund-Hansen went three-over par for the tournament, coming in with a 75(+4) in the final round of play. The previous day, Lund-Hansen finished one-under par with a 68 in the first round before finishing the second round with a two-over par, 73. The Denmark native finished the tournament with a two-day score of 216(+3).

Freshman Amy Chu completed the tournament tied for 13th place after carding a 217(+4). The Sydney, Australia native posted a 74(+4) in the final round of play.

Senior Madison Odiorne finished the tournament tied for 32nd, having finished with a 72(+1) in the final round bringing her overall score to a 221(+8). Junior Elodie Bridenne and redshirt-sophomore Emily Baumgart both completed with tournament with scores of 225(+12).

No. 23 Illinois took home the tournament title having gone even-par through the two-day event with an overall score of 852. Individually, San Jose State's Abegail Arevalo was the tournament medalist at two-under after posting a three-under, 68, on the final day of play.

The Cougars will be back on the course Oct. 5 -7 in Highlands Ranch, Colo. For the Ron Moore Women's Invitational hosted by the University of Denver.
