Brown and Odiorne in Top-20 Through Two

The Cougs finished their second round at the PING/ASU Invitational.
TEMPE, Ariz. - A pair of Cougs in senior Alivia Brown and junior Madison Odiorne have a chance at the individual title at the PING/ASU Invitational Sunday afternoon after putting themselves within striking distance in day two Saturday. Brown and Odiorne finished the second round of action in a tie for 19th overall at one-over, six off the tournament lead with 18 holes to play. The pair, along with the rest of the field, will attempt to chase down Oklahoma State's Emma Broze who hit the clubhouse with the lead at five-under through 36 holes.
As a team, WSU completed the day in 10th place following the second round. The Cougars shaved two strokes off of their first round score, coming in with a 295(+7), bringing their overall to 592(+16). The Cougars matched their second round score with No.18 Colorado, who sits in ninth place at 590(+14). No. 17 Oklahoma State holds the team lead after the second day at seven-under, three strokes ahead of No. 16 Washington.

Individually, Odiorne's 72 in round two tied for the team lead among the Cougars alongside of sophomore Marie Lund-Hansen. Odiorne came up with a team-best four birdies on the day to post her 72 while Lund-Hansen had a more even round as the second-year Coug posted a pair of birdies. Lund-Hansen finished tied for 34th overall with No.59 Brittany Fan of Colorado. Brown missed some opportunities on the course to finish with a 75 after posting a team-best 70 Friday.

The third and final round of the PING/ASU Invitational will conclude Sunday morning with a 7:30 a.m. start beginning with Emily Baumgart on the 10th hole. Baumgart finds herself in atie with Bree Wandersheid for 71st after the first two days of play in Arizona.
