Senior Alivia Brown finished in 11th overall to lead the way.
TEMPE, Ariz. - The third and final round of the PING/ASU Invitational concluded on Sunday, with the WSU women's golf team ending the tournament in 10th place overall. The Cougars carded their lowest round of the tournament on the final day with a combined 294(+6), bringing their overall total to 886(+22) for the three days of action.Â
"We competed hard this week and I am proud of the teams determination and fight," said head coach Kelli Kamimura. "We continue to focus on the process of getting one day better everyday. The entire semester we have been focused on what we want, what's next and creating opportunity. We are playing good, solid golf and giving ourselves opportunities to go low. We are trending in the right direction and look forward to preparing for the Silverado Showdown."Â
"Alivia, Marie, and Madison had strong individual finishes as well. ASU is always a field full of ranked teams and individuals and it is always great to see their dedication to the process and hard work pay off."Â
Seven ranked teams occupied the top-10, including No.36 UNLV who finished in ninth just two strokes ahead of the Cougars (884, +20). No.15 Arizona took the tournament title with a three round score of 852(-12) after pushing its way up the leaderboard on the final day with a tournament-best 11-under, 277.
