THIS WEEK
The Washington State women's golf team heads to Kailua Kona, Hawaii to compete at the Nanea Pac-12 Preview Monday through Wednesday, Nov. 5-7. The tournament is hosted by the University of Hawaii. The tournament is the final fall tournament for the Cougars who will then take a break for winter before returning to the course in February for the start of the spring season.
THE FIELD
11 teams will be joining Washington State in the field including No. 14 Arizona, No. 10 Arizona State, California, Colorado, Oregon, Oregon State, No. 6 UCLA, No. 1 USC, No. 11 Washington, and Hawaii.
REPRESENTING WASHINGTON STATE
Competing for the Cougars will be senior Madison Odiorne, junior Marie Lund-Hansen, freshman Amu Chu, junior Elodie Bridenne, and redshirt-sophomore Emily Baumgart.
LAST TIME ON THE GREEN
The team finished 14th at the Stanford Intercollegiate with an overall score of 902(+50). Senior Madison Odiorne led the way for the Cougars, finishing the tournament with an overall 216(+6). Junior Marie Lund-Hansen carded a three-over in the final round to put together an overall score of 221(+8).
COUGARS WELCOME TWO NEWCOMERS
Washington State welcomes three freshmen to the roster - Amy Chu and Cameron March.Australian native Chu has made a name for herself in the international golf world. Chu has competed all over the world, including America, Thailand, and Vietnam. She has made a name for herself in her home country as well, holding 11 championship finishes in Australian tournaments. Los Angeles, Calif. native March played four years of golf and three years of softball at Marlborough School. March earned all-League first team in golf her sophomore and junior season. Peters is no stranger to the Northwest.
COACHING STAFF
The team is led by tenth-year head coach Kelli Kamimura, who led the women's golf team to eleven program records, a tournament title, and an individual NCAA berth in the 2017-18 season. WSU alumna Emma White (Betland) is entering her fourth season as an assistant coach. White golfed at WSU from 2010-13.
