Cougars Complete Play in Stanford

The Washington State women's golf team moved up to tie for 14th place at the Stanford Intercollegiate hosted by Condoleezza Rice. WSU tied with Denver after carding a third round score of 306(+22).

STANFORD, CALIF. – The Washington State women's golf team moved up to tie for 14th place at the Stanford Intercollegiate hosted by Condoleezza Rice. WSU tied with Denver after carding a third round score of 306(+22).

The Cougars competed in a tough field, where seven out of ten teams were nationally ranked in the top-25. No. 3 USC took home the tournament title, carding an overall score of 837(-15) through three rounds of play. Stanford placed second at the tournament, marking an even-par, 852. No. 18 Northwestern finished third after carding a one-over, 853, through the three rounds.

Senior Madison Odiorne led the Cougars after carding a three-over, 74, in the final round to bring her overall score to a 219(+6). Odiorne's score tied her for 36th place with No. 84 Momoka Kobori from No. 21 Pepperdine and Monica Matsubara from No. 18 Northwestern.

Junior Marie Lund-Hansen carded a three-over in the final round to put together an overall score of 221(+8).

Individually, No. 31 Hira Naveed from Pepperdine and Mariel Galdiano from No. 2 UCLA won the tournament after each carding a 205(-8) through the three rounds. Naveed put together a three-under, 68, in the final round, while Galdiano scored a one-over, 72.

The Cougars will hit the green for their final tournament of the 2018 calendar year Nov. 5 – 7 as they travel to Kailua Kona, Hawaii for the Nanea Pac-12 Preview.
