Cougars Return To Bohler To Host Ranked USC, UCLA

No. 23 WSU takes on No. 14 USC, and No. 20 UCLA at home this weekend.

>> Washington State looks to get back on track in Pac-12 play after falling to both No. 2 Stanford, and California on the road last week. The Cougars will welcome No. 14 USC, Friday, and No. 20 UCLA, Sunday in two big Pac-12 showdowns.
>> WSU currently ranks third overall in the Pac-12 in opponent hitting percentage at .193, along with ranking third in blocks per set with 2.60 overall. The Cougs are also fourth in the conference in hitting percentage at .252 as a team.
COUGARS CHECK IN AT NO. 23 IN AVCA COACHES POLL
WSU Volleyball enters the week at number 23 in the week eight AVCA Coaches Poll, earning 157 total points. Fellow Pac-12 members that earned top 25 spots as well include; Stanford (2), USC (14), Oregon (16), Washington (19), UCLA (20), Arizona (25), and Arizona State (RV).
WSU AT NO. 17 IN NCAA RPI RANKINGS
Washington is currently ranked number 17 overall in the latest NCAA RPI rankings, posting a 13-5 record, along with a 4-4 Pac-12 record to continue conference play during the month of October. The Cougs currently have a home record of 5-0 heading into the weekend as they prepare of ranked opponents USC, and UCLA. Through October 21, the Cougars will have faced a total of 10 top-25 ranked opponents in 20 overall matches as well.
CAREER DAYS ALL-AROUND
The Cougars saw multiple individual career-highs set or matched Sunday, Oct. 14 against Cal with senior McKenna Woodford tying her single game career-high in kills with 22 overall. Sophomore Penny Tusa posted a single game career-high in kills as well with 14 total. Tusa also recorded a career-high in digs with 15, and was her first double-double this season. Senior Abby Phillips totaled 14 digs in the contest against the Bears for a career-high in the stat category for her.

Washington State will return home this weekend against the Trojans of USC and the Bruins of UCLA this Friday, and Sunday. The Cougars will look to get back on track in Pac-12 play after falling twice last week to both No. 2 Stanford, and California on the road. WSU enters the weekend with an all-time record of 14-50 against USC, and a record of 9-54 all-time against UCLA as well.
