Before the new players put on the Crimson and Gray we got a chance to get to know them a little better. Newest freshman Michaela Jones comes from the corn fields of Nebraska to the wheat fields of the Palouse.
What made you want to be a Coug?
The incredible relationship I have with the coaches and I love their drive, passion, vision, and what they stand for.
What do you love about basketball?
It is a sport that demands mental and physical toughness and resilience. Basketball also exposes your habits, good and bad. You really cannot just hide or specialize.
What do you hope to get out of your time at Washington State?
I look forward to helping build an elite women's basketball program while I grow both as a player and person. I hope to also create life long friendships and relationships at WSU.
Who inspired you athletically to pursue your collegiate dreams?
I never had one individual that was the reason I wanted to play in college. However, throughout the years of watching college sports on TV and going to games I knew it was special and definitely something that I wanted to be a part of.
If you weren't playing basketball what would you be doing and why?
If I was not playing basketball I would get a job and or volunteer somewhere that I would be able to help others and interact with them. I would need something to do with my time when I was not in classes and I really enjoy serving others. For me personally, I need a sense of accomplishment.
What is something unique/special that only your closest friends know about you?
I love chewing gum.
If you could go anywhere or do anything what would it be and why?
I would go to Italy. I have seen so many beautiful pictures of the country and I really think it is a place I would love to travel to.
