SAN FRANCISCO – Washington State men's basketball will open the 2018-19 Pac-12 season with three-straight road games, the Pac-12 announced Monday, along with the weekly matchups and site designations for the league's 2018-19 men's basketball season.
Since the additions of Colorado and Utah to form the Pac-12 in 2012, not all conference schools play each other twice in a season. There is a two-year rotation in which each team will play four teams once, either at home or on the road. This season marks the second of a two-year rotation after playing Colorado, Utah, California and Stanford just once in both 2011-12 and 2012-13, Arizona, Arizona State, UCLA and USC just once each in both 2013-14 and 2014-15, and Oregon, Oregon State, California and Stanford just once each in both 2015-16 and 2016-17. This season the Cougars will play UCLA and USC just once, at Pullman, and will play Arizona and Arizona State just once, at Arizona.
The Cougars open Pac-12 play with three-straight road games beginning at Washington the week of Jan. 2-6. The following week, WSU will head to Colorado and Utah to take on the Buffaloes and Utes the week of Jan. 9-13. Washington State opens the home Pac-12 season the week of Jan. 16-20 hosting California and Stanford.
During the week of Jan. 23-27, WSU heads to Oregon to take on the Beavers and the Ducks, before closing out January and bringing in February with its only meetings with USC and UCLA, Jan. 30-Feb. 3, at Pullman.
Washington State then hosts three-straight home games, beginning with Washington, the week of Feb. 13-17 and followed by Utah and Colorado for the second time, Feb. 20-24. The final road trip of the season takes the Cougars to the Bay Area to take on Stanford and California, Feb. 27-March 3. Once again, the Cougars close the regular season at home hosting Oregon and Oregon State, March 6-9.
The Pac-12 Tournament will take place at T-Mobile Arena at Las Vegas, March 13-16. The nonconference season is expected to be released later this week.
