NAPA, California- The WSU women's golf team concluded the first round of the Silverado Showdown on Sunday, coming in with a 299(+11) to finish seventh in the stacked field. The Cougars sit ahead of several ranked teams, including No.14 Northwestern (300, +12), No.23 Purdue (303, +15), and No.10 Arizona State (309, +21).
 
No.62 Senior Alivia Brown just missed the top ten for the day, coming in tied for 12th with six others, including No.1 Lilia Vu of UCLA. Brown counteracted five out of six bogies with birdies, to finish one over par at 73.
 
Sophomore Marie Lund-Hansen joins Brown in the top-twenty, sitting tied for 19th. Lund-Hansen marked even pars and a single bogey in both the front and back nine, to come in with a 74(+2).
 
Senior Bree Wanderscheid and junior Madison Odiorne each tallied a 76(+4) following the first round. The duo sit tied for 42nd with seven others.
 
The second round of the tournament will tee off Monday at 7:45 a.m. from the 1st and 10th tees.
